Steve Ashton

With almost 20 years of experience in banking and finance, Steve Ashton brings product knowledge, leadership and client servicing skills to the Avant Financial Services’ team.

In his most recent role as a self-employed finance broker, Steve successfully built a strong client base over four years. This achievement is no surprise for a client-focused financial specialist with an average NPS score of 9.8.

 Prior to opening his own business, Steve spent more than a decade at the Commonwealth Bank. Here, he began his career as a graduate and rapidly progressed within four years to an executive role in the Home Loan Leadership Team. In this role, Steve utilised his extensive knowledge in product management to develop and deliver transformational programs, firstly in Home Loan Retention, before helping launch the bank’s Small Business Home Lending segment.

 This experience enabled Steve to build a deep and well-rounded understanding of home lending in the Australian market and delve into the unique home lending needs of self-employed clients.

 Away from the office, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and young family. Favourite pastimes include camping, going to the beach and maintaining an active lifestyle. When there’s time, Steve also keenly follows the Reds and Wallabies in Rugby Union.
