About
Joining Avant Financial Services was a homecoming for Laura Jonsson, given she has spent most of her life around medical professionals. Laura has nearly two decades of experience in medical equipment and finance and grew up in a medical household, where her father was running his own orthopaedic surgery practice.
She also has significant partnership management experience and a deep understanding of the medical equipment sphere, developed during her time at Sirona Dental Systems.
Laura’s experiences and her skills in everything from campaign management to social media mean she is an expert at providing the information doctors need to make strategic financial decisions.
At BOQ Specialist and Investec, she pioneered a workshop series called “Roadmap to Practice Success”, which provided medical specialists with a 360-degree view of practice finance. The workshops included sessions on the legal, financial and marketing elements of practice setup, helping clients to become informed and involved partners.
She also worked with medical, dental and veterinary associations to deliver practice and personal finance content, and special finance offers, tailored specifically to their members.
Away from the office, Laura is goal-orientated and loves exercise. She is a qualified surf life saver and spends a lot of time bushwalking and camping with her husband and two boys. Bendalong, on the New South Wales south coast, is their favourite spot for a family getaway.
